I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knee at the age of 52.
I have had highs and lows with my knee because I work hard. I drive a flatbed truck. I get up on the flatbed and climb down, chain and strap down loads. I drive to northern Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, California, and Texas. That’s what I do. My knee had to survive this.
I have also lived an active lifestyle in the country for the last 30 years. I maintain my home, I clear trees on my property. I am constantly going up and down and up and down the stairs. It is so important for me to use my legs.
In 2008, my Orthopaedic Surgeon told me about hyaluronic acid injections for osteoarthritis. This made sense to me because it is a lubricant for your joints. For me, treatment was not just about pain management. I need to have functional movement in my knee joint.
My legs are very important to me. To lose the capacity to walk… to me that would be like losing my eyesight.
Over the last 12 years, DUROLANE has stabilized the progression of osteoarthritis in my knee. I turned 70 in April, I have no pain in my knee, and I have no inflammation. I was able to continue working with my knee as if I was in my 30s, but I was over 65 and still capable.
DUROLANE is responsible for this.

My name is Greg Puchniak and I’m 48 years old.
I’m a self-employed electrician/systems integrator. I climb a lot of ladders. I’m the main technical person for our company. I like to engage in fun activities, pretty much anything outdoors, from playing hockey, baseball, golf, running, trail running, obstacle racing, and teaching fitness classes. Basically, anything outdoors is what I like to do.
In 2004, I was playing hockey and I got blind-sided and “tore my ACL”. At that time the doctor told me that I will likely get arthritis. But, of course I was 30, and thought, “oh yeah when I’m 70.” Not a big concern for me.
In September 2018, setting up a tent, my knee locked up. An MRI revealed that it was the beginning of osteoarthritis and a torn meniscus.
That has been one of the more painful injuries I have had. The constant aching and soreness, in the morning especially, has been almost unbearable.
When I saw my surgeon, one of the first things he mentioned to me was, we have a product called DUROLANE that we can try. It’s a shot that helps replace a key component of the fluid in your knee that helps with the cushioning.
I got my injection on my birthday, December 28th. After about a week, things really started to feel quite a bit better. I was able to start running again. It was only a few kilometers at that time, but for me that was huge.
DUROLANE has definitely given me a tool, a leg up, so to speak, to actually, be able to get back to what I want to do. Now I am getting out on the trails, on the road, and doing what I enjoy. I’m very happy with the product.

I began running in 1975. Since then, I’ve participated in hundreds of races, from 5-km runs to marathons, my favorite!
I have participated in over 50 marathons including multiple races in Boston, Chicago, Washington, Amsterdam, Toronto, Québec, Montréal and Ottawa. My personal record is two hours and 38 minutes in Chicago.
Even with flat feet and a severe pronation of the left foot, multiple injuries and ankle sprains, I’ve run thousands of kilometers.
Four years ago, I suffered from a bad sprain that didn’t want to heal and I decided to run through the pain. After 10 km, my ankle would swell up. An MRI confirmed that I was suffering from degenerative changes in the subtalar joint, commonly called ankle osteoarthritis. I was given two options: undergo ankle fusion surgery, or receive cortisone (steroid) injections.
I did my research and found out about DUROLANE SJ for ankle. After discussing this option with my sports medicine doctor, I received my first injection.
After a few days, the product settled in my ankle and I noticed a big, positive change. For the months that followed, I was able to run and train like before. I performed very well in a few half-marathons, pain free.
After 9 months, I was ready for my next injection.
This year, I will be receiving my third DUROLANE treatment. I am 72 years old and I run around 65 km weekly – pain free. Thank you Durolane!
